A German court has rejected a claim from an unemployed man who wanted the state to provide him with pornographic material and free visits to a brothel.

The 35-year-old man took his local authority to court after the foreign ministry refused to pay an airfare for his Thai wife to travel to Germany.

He argued that they should compensate him for his lack of sex.
The nerve.

A lot of nerve. But then, I wonder if it is not related to the German government's attempts to tax the work of sex workers.

Well, it might be a case of cheekiness in Germany, but I remember that it used to be officially part of the unemployment benefit in Holland that one or two visits a month to a brothel were paid for. I don't know if it's still the case. It might be because I remember seeing a Spiegel tv documentary on the sex industry in Holland a while ago and one such unemployed guy was featured in his relationship with his favourite sex worker.
weird wabbit

I honestly don't know.

The not-so-affluent definitely have access to free legal counsel; I do not know whether this extends to legal representation in court, or to arguably frivolous lawsuits. I doubt it.
