Anyone install the 1.1 update? Any results? pro/con?
Does anyone know if it fixes anything other than just the bootcamp and "other boot" issues?

I installed it - no problems before or after to be honest, but like to keep up to date. There are some murmurings saying that it fixes resolution issues with installing XP on the x1900 and 23"ACD, also the problem with having to sleep and wake the machine in order to use Parallels.

I honestly can't tell any changes at all after installing the update. Parallels still tells me to sleep and wake up the computer to enable virtualization support, and Windows XP boots the same as always under BootCamp.

ionic, does your MP have a 23" ACD display and X1900 card though? There was a previous (?)incompatibility between Boot Camp/XP and systems with a 23" ACD and X1900 card that would cause a black screen until Windows loaded.

There's seems to be a few threads over at apple discussion with people having issues with the updae,i.e., unable to install. I'll let the dust settle a little more before I take the plunge.

Worked for me. At least one person said it fixed the Windows Installer issue with the 23" ACD/X1900. As for the black screen until login when booting Windows, I haven't gone into Windows since installing the update so I dunno.

I installed XP Pro on my MP last night without problems. One quirk though:
When I press down Option on Startup to change startup disks, the Windows partition is a standard hard drive icon, but the Mac partition is an iPod nano with a stop sign on its screen. There's no problem when I select the Mac partition and load up, but what's with the icon?

Oversoul, mine has the Nvidia 7300, and I should have specified that. When booting Windows XP, the screen remains completely blank except for a second where the Windows XP startup screen flashes on, followed by a second where a garbled version of the Apple boot drive selection screen flashes up, then more blank until the Windows desktop appears. The Windows startup has never been as smooth looking as it should, and I thought this maybe fixed that (extremely minor) issue. It would be nice the firmware actually had fixed the Intel virtualization error when starting Parallels.

About the startup disk icon issue: nevermind. It was merely a custom icon problem easily fixed in Finder.

I installed it the day it was released, I haven't experienced any problems.
