Howdy, guys. I'm trying to lay out my options for ordering a new iBook DVD and I was wondering if y'all could help me out. Here are a few factors that will affect my decision:

Oddly enough, I haven't been seeing any killer iBook deals on dealmac.com, so I'm not very familiar with the best internet prices.

I'm a college student, so if I ordered from the Apple Store, I could get the iBook DVD for $1450, but that's without any extra RAM. I'm not interested in the printer, RAM, and MP3 player special, either.

I naturally want to get my iBook DVD as soon as possible. I'm not sure what ship dates are going to be like at each store, so that will affect things, as well. My local CompUSA has them in stock, so I could theoretically get one from there at any time, but it'd probably be at full price and without any free RAM (and $123 for sales tax really hurts).

I also don't know a good place to get RAM. OWC has a 256 MB module for about $78, but is there a such thing as a 512 MB RAM module for the new iBook? If so, where's a good place to get it?

Taking all these things into account, what do you recommend? Thanks a million.

OWC usually has very good prices, awesome service, cheap shipping, and a lifetime garuntee. I don't trust my RAM to any other place. I personally would wait until they got 512 MB chips in stock before buying one, but that's just me.

**I do NOT work for them, just a very happy customer.

I agree on the OWC comment. They are awesome. I got a 256 from them and it was here in no time! From my understanding, the 512s are much more expensive ... in the $300-$350 range. For the price difference 256 is the way to go IMO.
