Hello,
Our company purchased NAV 9 (for OS X) a few weeks ago. Right off the bat we had trouble. Most notabley when trying to open e-mails in Lotus Notes (v. 5.0.11) runnning Classic an error would come up stating that "File is in use by another program".
We found that after turning off Auto Protect that eveything was back to normal. We've been running NAV 8 on OS X for the past year without any problems. We never had to turn the Auto Protect off.
Our Product Design room had a different kind of problem in Freehand 9 (OS 9 application) when NAV 9 auto-protect was on. When folks would try to save an exisitng document with changes it would require a save as. Again, once Auto-Protect was turned off everything was ok.
It seems really weird to have an OS X application like NAV to be causing problems with Classic (Lotus Notes 5.0.11 or Freehand 9), but it does. Trying to find information or troubleshooting information on NAV 9 is almost non-existant. There is a tiny bit of information at Symantec's website but nothing substantial or helpful.
NAV 9 is installed on G4/400 up to G4/1.45 GHZ. All machines are runing Mac OS X 10.2.6. All security updates are installed on these machines.
Our company is slowly converting to X. But for now the majority of applciations are running in Classic.
If anyone is using NAV 9 and have some feedback I would be interested in your experience.
Thanks in advance!
