If you like to customize your Mac and change the desktop pic and all that sort of stuff, this is a short list of sites that I have found to be useful. This list is mostly for Mac newbies and beginners

MacThemes at www.macthemes.net has a big archive of ShapeShifter themes plus reviews on them as well as helpful forums

Mac GUI at www.macgui.com it's got a load of stuff to totally trick out your Mac, plus they have a huge collection of software reviews and how-to guides

ResExcellence at www.resexcellence.com while a lot of their downloads are offline, they do have the biggest mod collection

CandyMac at www.candymac.com has a novel navigation system but has a lot of great icons and desktops

GUI Styles http://www.guistyles.com/ It has everything to customize your mac. They have forums and are also a relatively new site

www.pixelgirlpresents.com - mostly desktop pictures, but they have mac icons as well.

I read the initial post and also thought it was spam but it was just someone new to the board who was trying to be helpful. As for the "low reading comprehension skills" I suggest you run a spell checker.

Perhaps the admins could add an announcement (so it remains at the top of the forum) with helpful links. Thanks again for the information D0g Cow but I already had them bookmarked

There's nothing wrong with dogcow's intentions; he/she's doing no harm.

The internet is a vast free range for all to contribute however they like, and it seems our friend dogcow has found that it takes pretty modest efforts to make a little dough this way.

I'm not mocking him, I'm "jiving" him. Just a friendly jab of a mock to let him know I know what's up. That's all.

i think you forgot to mention that almost all of macgui's content, is stolen from other mac sites, without permission. i wouldn't list macgui in a "mac modder's heaven" link list. it's more of a mac mod creator's hell.

Just wanted to note that MacThemes (front page) is currently dead and undergoing renovation. However, the forums have been the heart and soul of the site for the last year, and are quite alive and kicking. (Over 3 million hits this month.)

We have a few things that most sites don't, one being a mods / hybrids forum with permission pre-granted from most top themers to allow users to release their modifications within the forum, and while new theme releases have slowed down as of late, there are literally dozens of amazing mods to be found. And you'll also find some useful stickies, such as the new user's guide to customizing and the definitive modding apps list. Enjoy!

i'm a moderator of the resex forums and i know the people redoing the site.
