Hi,
I have a 30GB iPod. The screen is currently lit up and frozen on the first menu (listing Music, Photos, Videos etc.).
I tried plugging the iPod into my computer but the computer and iPod were not responsive - the iPod icon did not even appear on my desktop. I also tried placing the iPod into my iHome dock but the dock and iPod were not responsive.

Has anyone ever had this problem or know how to fix it?

Thanks in advance!

let it run until the battery gets so low the unit shuts down. Plug it back in to recharge and it should be fine.

I have the 5G 30GB and it locked up once after the 1st year. Seems to happen more with age or when the battery is low. I use it with an Intel iMac.

click the hold button and then switch it back quickly then hold the midbutton together with the menu button until the symbol of the apple would pop-up.

that's how you would restart your ipod.

i got another problem....

my ipod vid can't be detected by my pc. it was ok a few days ago. now, it is not popping up in the itunes. can anyone help me on this? i need my data to be retrieved as well but if it can't be helped then i just need to be able to restore my ipod to its original version. help me anyone please.........
