And then it turns out this guy has apparently formerly posted videos of him feeding kittens to a snake and/or killing kittens with a vacuum cleaner, all of which outraged various people on the internets and warranted some tabloid fodder in London, which he then fueled by writing emails to said tabloid about "getting the taste of blood" and using an actual human next time - but didn't all this didn't really register with police.
And now he's disappeared, apparently to Europe somewhere. I mean...the details of this whole thing are just wild.

It's messed up all right.
I saw some reaction videos on YouTube; people filming themselves watching the video in the style of 2 girls 1 cup. They all appear to experience genuine distress and almost vomit.
There is nothing you could do to get me to watch that sh!t.

My dad is of a similar opinion. He put forth the idea (which I like very much) there should be a legal standard "beyond a shadow of a doubt" which a prosecutor can attempt to prove in these types of situations. If the verdict is guilty, then that's it, no appeal. We excise the person ASAP, like they're a tumor.

100% agree with this. I made the mistake of watching the video (not knowing the details before) and it's definitely horrifying and the guy is totally psychotic. And it's scary when you think of how many such lunatics are probably out there, or those that have committed such vicious acts in the past. I can't think of any circumstance that would justify such actions. It's like Se7en in real life.
