Hi all, being the resident geek in my circle of friends, I've been asked to research digital video cameras. Have a friend who's planning to make some small movies for sale within the business they work in. Been asked to spec out some choices in HD 16x9 digital video cameras for semi-pro work. Budget for the camera is US$2-3k, plus we'll need to look into lights and sound but I'm guessing sound can go into the camera and if necessary use a mixing desk if there's multiple mic's. Lighting is less of a problem I think.
I know my computers and still cameras but video is new to me, could anyone make some suggestions (with reasons) to at least get me started on my search.
