Some phones Im considering for 2004

Sony Ericsson T630 128x160 screen SE T630
Review mobileburn T630

Sony Ericsson P900 208x320 LCD screen SE P900
Reviewmobileburn P900

Nokia 6230 128x128 TFT screen Nokia 6230
Review mobileburn 6230

Nokia 6600 176x208 TFT screen Nokia 6600
Review mobileburn 6600

Sendo X 176x220 TFT screen Sendo
Review mobileburn Sendo X

I believe they all have Bluetooth and prices will range between $150-850.

Other recommendations? User experience with any of the phones above (some are already in the market).

If you have ATT then wait for the 6230 because it has EDGE capability giving speeds up to 230 kbps with average throughput of between 110-130 kbps.

i was looking forward to the SEP900. but, the reviews have been mixed....kinda bummed. it sure looks nice.

i'm looking for my next upgrade to be *at least* a GSM phone/pocketpc with bluetooth or wireless 802.11x so i can use it as a portable internet connection for my powerbook if i'm away from a LAN.

i know a few wireless providers have unlimited data packages which make an internet connection to a laptop economically feasable.

anyone see anything else promising on the horizon?
if it aint' broke, break it.

I really depends on what your really want to do with the phone.

If you need PDA functionality? If not, then you might not need P900.

Nokia 6600 is already available in Europe/Asia-Pac. I saw it and it is quite big in size!

I don't know how soon in 2004 will Nokia 6230 be available. Nokia nowadays tend to pre-announce their phone up to 12 months before it is available in the market. (They announced 6230 just as Nokia 6220 (which is the previous version of 6230) hits the streets...) And I would not hold my breath as to whether it can play AAC songs purchased from iTMS as is.

I would say hold on to your question until about one month before you get your new phone (unless you are going to get one in January).

So did you end up going with an unlocked phone on eBay? If that works, I'll have to look there the next time I change phones.

NOPE! I chickened out. I did write the guy who one and he did say it really was unlocked though.

I went to:
http://www.howardforums.com/

Posted that I wanted a new t616 got a reply within a couple hours, met someone in my town later that day who just bought it, unlocked it and got the newest firmware, used it for 17 min and then realized that he likes flip phones so he sold it to me for $100 less from what he paid.

The damn phone is freakin awesome and I am coming from a t68i which was already incredible.

I'm gonna get a T610 or T616 soon I think. I want to get the T630, but my friends in Asia can't find it there either, even though it's supposed to be out already.

I still don't get why you want the 610 when the 616 is what both Fido and Rogers sell in Canada as it supports there frequencies.
