Not necessarily. The keyboard backlight probably isn't as bright as it looks in the photos because I had dimmed the screen in order to make the keyboard more visible - and in the second shot, the keyboard was the only light source in the whole room so inevitably it looks really bright in the pic.

And thanks.

I think you're referring to my setup, in which case, yes, it's a 20" screen.

Sorry, only just seen this - it's actually a kitchen table that we've put upstairs as a desk. I think it's from IKEA but we didn't buy it ourselves.

Wow! what did you do to that TiBook scrape of all the paint? The bare metal looks sorta cool but it also looks really sandpapered to death.

I like your setup! How is the MacBook Pro display outdoors, is it easy to see in sun light?

It's pretty good. You can see how the sun was behind me. That shot was taken around 11 am. Certainly, I had no problem reading the document I was working in.

This is a large part of the reason I got a laptop. It's not just for travelling. I have a nice office with a quite large desk at home, but it's too much like being at work on the days when I have to work from home. I find if I can go out on the grass, on the deck, in the sun room, or on the couch then I get to work while still feeling like I got some kind of a break from the office. It's good for my stress level.

Unfortunately, in about a month the mosquitoes will be out so this will particular setup be less do-able.

along with the brighter screen, would be nice to see waterproofing and mosquito-repellant lamps in the next version of the mbp...

I think I'm going to start doing that the next time I'm working from home. I agree ... even the home office feels too much like the normal office, without the fuel bill from the commute.

It's just a household extension cord plugged into a socket on my deck. The "hub"is the power supply. I could have used battery, but I was out there for several hours.

Hmm now I can't decide if I like the black or not, it's matte and if the white is glossy (can't really tell) I might like it better. Plus charging for the black is kinda greedy
