Just got my PB and the first thing I notice is that it wobbles! NOOOOOOOOO. What can I do? Do you think it'll work itself once I start using it? *hoping*

Most all Rev. A 12" PBs and Rev. B 12" PBs will wobble due to how Apple designed the battery to sit right on the corner, and actually act as one of the 4 corners. There's nothing you can really do besides put a thin object on your desk to compensate, however, when using it on your lap, you'll never notice it.

Except for mine; I'm serious it doesn't wobble.

Hi AssassyN,
you were the one who posted this great first review about the comparison between the old and new 12 inch Powerbook?
Can you tell me, did Apple fix the wobble problem with the new version?

Obviously they didn't since my new 12" wobbles
Okay, I notice that it doesn't wobble if I position the notebook at a certain spot on my desk. I think the spot works because that particular spot is kinda warped - I suppose the two uneven surface cancel each other out, eh? heh.

My wife's 12" RevA wobbled and I took it to the apple store. They fixed it, saying that there is a tension bar inside the case that gets warped. They have a machine to straighten it and this braces the case properly.
Don't know if this is kosher, but her powerbook no longer wobbles.
Cheers,
J.

I called apple this morning and they told me the wobbling is not normal. So off to the service centre it goes.
They're also gonna check on the clicking noise for me cuz it's driving me nuts!

Oh no, I meant I'm dropping it off at the service counter at the store so they can fix it.
We don't have apple service centres in Canada. That was just a slip up from my PC days, hehe.

The clicking noise is most likely due to the Office Test Drive since it seems you are using that based on another thread of yours. Uninstall it, and the noises should go away. The full version won't give you those problems. The only times I hear noises from my hd are parking of heads.

I don't think it was Office because I deleted it once and the clicking continued (I reinstalled it cuz I needed Words. Pfft. Who would ever thought it won't let you print? dumb trial).
Anyway, I took my notebook in to the service counter and they told me apple doesn't cover the wobbling issue - wtf?
So, now it's at the service centre waiting for them to check out the clicking/spinning/scraping issue. I hope they don't do anything bad to it

You can always lightly sand down the offending foot. My rear feet came off my 17". Although I hear the Apple store carries them I stuck on some left over feet from my exterior hard drive. Fortunately it still does not wobble.
