I have a Mac Book Pro running 10.4.10.
My Built-in Audio (Aggregated) Output is missing from Audio MIDI Setup and the System Preferences Sound panel. The red light in the headphone jack is lit (consistent with the fact that the only available output listed in System Preferences is the digital output and it is selected).
When I plug headphones in, sound plays normally through the headphones.
I have been Googling and posting for hours and no luck. I read a post about someone sticking a pen in there headphone jack to reset the audio card, but I haven't been able to corroborate that suggestion.
I also created a new user account and logged into that to see if the output appeared, but no luck there either.
Where should I start looking?
