I am looking to create and share a simple online database.


I dont want to hire a LAMP programmer to do this.


For a business person, with limited coding knowledge , is there any application to share a simple online database, can filemaker help us do this?


Its a contact app, listing contacts by city and a simple database we can share with our employees, with some query capabilities?


Any suggestions?

You know... I can't think of a simple one - graphical install etc. SQLITE comes to mind but you still have to do some programming. I think there are filemaker to web apps/sites out there.

Your requirements seem simple enough - but you might end up needing to hire someone. Sorry if that doesn't help - but I am trying. I bet someone here has a better idea for you.

FileMaker is so much easier to use out of the box, you should at least download the version 8.5 software from filemaker.com.
Do not expect to become a developer overnight. FileMaker is not that easy, but if you're looking for a basic on-line database, try it out. To serve a Filemaker db to the web is, seriously, as difficult as checking a checkbox.

I have heard of Vtiger Vs SugarCRM. Any other good CRM suggestions?
