The new iOS 7 version of iPhoto appears to have stolen icon art from a third-party app, Pic Stitch, users note. The icon for iPhoto's "Web Journal" option (located under the Share menu) appears to be virtually identical to the Pic Stitch app icon except that it's rotated and the colors are swapped. The developer of Pic Stitch, Big Blue Clip, has yet to respond to inquiries.

The theft appears even more deliberate in light of the similarities between Pic Stitch and iPhoto Web Journals. In both cases, they allow people to build photo collages for sharing with friends and family.

And so it's come to this: a bog standard image of a page layout is "stolen" by Apple for use in iPhoto. Is this article taking the piss? (Evidently those thieves at Apple tried to hide their dastardly work by changing colours and rotating it, but the detectives have managed to decipher their evil efforts.)

Sheesh, you people really need to get out more.

Are you serious? Why is this news? The developer of Pic Stitch hasn't responded to inquiries because he / she / they think you're an idiot for coming up with this conspiracy theory and posting it as news.

And I am sure you two brainiacs would cry out loud if any other application developer would steal an Apple icon and just shuffles the colours a bit. Its a poor decision, but the whole icon set of iOS7 seems to be created from a team of colour-blind candy junkies.

I doubt that those two "brainiacs" would give a shit, or that it would even be reported anywhere.

Also, developers are encouraged to standardize icons within their apps to create a seamless experience.

But hey, if you need something to get worked up over now that the medication seems to be wearing off...go right ahead.

Nobody will mind.

I'm liking how the doofs at MacNN couldn't even get the screengrabs right. You have to go back to the 9to5 link to even know WTF they're talking about. Keep trading stupid up that chain, MacNN...

Seriously, WTF is this article talking about? Shouldn't the pictures show the icon art in the iPhoto app, and then show the icon for PicStitch.
