I really need (read want) to buy a new computer. I'm leaning toward getting an iMac, but do feel a little cheated to buy one now with the emac being a better deal.

Do you think that by Sept 1st something will happen to the iMac line either in an update or the rumored G5?

Oh yes, I'm waiting, too.

I almost bought an eMac, but then decided to wait for the next iMac revision.

There has to be a revision ometime this summer. The last revision is from December, right ?
That's already 6 months. I can't see Apple going almost a year without updating.

The BIG QUESTION:
Is it going to be a G5 or not ?

There is a saying, though I cannot give credit to the source:

"What do you think, what do you know, what can you prove?"

For intelligent discussion, it is important to know and understand the difference.

Well, when it comes to speculation, I think everyone thinks what they want, knows nothing, and can't prove a thing... so.....

I think:

No G5 iMac in 2004

I know:

According to Apple's history, the iMac will be the LAST to get a G5, and it will be accompanied by a complete new design. The iMac has only been out for just over 2 years, and is not ready for such a drastic change.

I can prove:

No one knows anything expect Apple.

Now, how about you go harrass the guy that said "all signs point to yes" !?!?

I agree. In fact, I'm betting on July shipments. No guarantees though of course.

There's also this thread, but there's a lot of noise in there.

So Wanker,

Why don't you follow your own remarks, and explain to us what makes you think this?

Announcement:

If you look up at the path of the forums, you will see that the iMac & eMac forum is within the Troubleshooting and Discussion category.

Topics like these fall under discussion, and are absolutely welcome.

Please try and keep similar topics in one thread, especially when they are about speculation of new product.

Thank you.
If this post is in the Lounge forum, it is likely to be my own opinion, and not representative of the position of MacNN.com.
