How often do you transfer ringtones onto your phone? Enough to justify permanently wasting a USB port when Apple never gives enough of those anyway?

And you've still got the problem that a casual user probably wouldn't have a USB cable handy that has the right connector to hook up to a phone, so they'd have to go buy one. And spending $20 on a cable kind of negates the cost savings from making your own ringtones, no? So for a user who just wants to get the files from point A to point B (and who mentioned his Mac is Bluetooth capable, implying that that's how he'd like to do it), the easiest way to do it is probably just to use Bluetooth!
