Will the iPhone 4 be able to work with the new 4G network?

I went to the AT&T site and noticed the advertisements for the their new 4G network. Will the iPhone 4 work at 4G speeds with a software update? Or do we need to upgrade to the new iPhone 5?

I wouldn't worry too much about it, their coverage area/deployment plan sucks.

I doubt iPhone 5 will support true 4G (LTE). Apple has always lagged on cellular standards. Maybe they'll pull a Tmo and brand HSPA+ as 4G.
