I'd really like to listen to FM radio on my Mac. What I'd REALLY like is to hook up the FM Radio to a machine in the house and let it stream to any Mac on the internal network - also to play, pause, and rewind the audio.

Does such a thing exist? We have an XServe, MDD Dual 1.25, G5 Dual, AlBooks - so it can be a PCI card, USB hardware, whatever.

Thanks!

wow, an xserve at home.

I think there is a version of mytv with fm its an external tv tuner with radio if u get that there should be an app to stream stuff, I know there is an app to stream my eye-tv to local computers but it doesn't have fm. hope this points you in the right direction. my-tv-fm + streaming software like CyTV (except thats for Eye-TV).

good luck

Thanks

We run our servers at home in a closet instead of at a data center because I work out of the home and prefered having my servers close by

I'll check that stuff out.

Ok, your job kicks serious butt if they let you have the servers in YOUR closet!

70 bucks seems reasonable if the software is good and the sound quality is decent. Anyone in here ever used one? I would consider getting one for school, where I like getting more and more usb peripherals instead of standaone devices. Also, can you connect an external antenna? (Dorms with cinder block walls don't make for friendly radio waves.)

Yeah, noticed that too. So I'll just have to wait until reviews surface.

There's a write up on the RadioShark in this month's MacWorld. They printed the price wrong in the mag though. The price of $70 is the correct price, I wrote a quick e-mail to Griffin Tech to see what the deal was. They said mid-November is the expected ship date...
