I have a g3 500 / 384 mb / 10gb / combo / airport / 12" iBook. Has anyone put one of the Seagate 7200 RPM drives in one of these little Guys? If so, anything worthy to note? Also, can anyone provide a link on to how to do this. Thanks!

I personally have never upgraded an iBook HDD, but I've been told that the operation's a b**** to perform. However, if you are feeling adventurous, I've provided an excellent link for you. Just be warned that it will be challenging. You should definitely notice a speed increase, however.

I've replaced mine recently. While it wasn't difficult, I wouldn't want to have to open the thing up again. If you've never opened up a laptop before or if you're not very technically inclined I wouldn't do it. There's a lot of stuff in there that you can damage while trying to clear the way to the hard drive. But if you're confident, careful, and patient you shouldn't have a problem.

I got my guide from www.pbfixit.com.
