Any, really? I may change them under extraordinary circumstances WRT to firearms, but it won't be over a forum discussion (or a stand-up comedy sketch either, FTM). Is that something you regularly do?

Of course not, but the second you just put your fingers in your ears and humming loudly is the second you become an intellectual write-off.

I may not often change my mind, but some of these discussions make me think and rethink way more often than I tend to admit.
I have plenty of more important things to do, if only I could bring myself to do them....

As if the Progressive Left hasn't turned that into an art form.

Examples? My position has changed radically on: abortion, capital punishment, and climate change, all due to forum discussions. That's hardly closed-minded.

Why is Dawkins a representative of the progressive left?

Dawkins tends to get dragged into discussions outside his wheelhouse a lot. I think its often a case of him being categorised by the media because they see him as a lefty spokesperson on one particular subject and they don't tend to do any kind of nuance, so he must be a 'high-ranking lefty' on every subject. Probably doesn't help that he will usually give them an answer if they ask.

Or maybe they value his opinions which are usually quite thoughtful and logical. Or maybe those characteristics just add to the sense he must be a lefty.
