I hold no such powers. I didn't make people start personally attacking me. You like Rob, blame others for your actions. Rob too blames others for him personally attacking other people. This isn't what I am doing.
You always blame others for doing so but most threads without your participation (there are not many, I know) are mostly enjoyable...and I like to ENJOY a debate...that's why I joined a few forums!
This is you again blaming your actions on me. This is you again making character assassinations without being on topic.
This thread for example has around 1500 posts on 30 pages already. Those who like the A380 are usually the ones who are keeping it alive...and all of them already know about the financial situation of the A380 for a very long time...but that doesn't stop you from entering, when it hits page 1 in the lounge again and posts the same negative stuff again and again which you already did for the last 20+ pages (probably, I didn't check...just my impression)!
WHY???????
Threads evolve, you know!?
Because there are people like you, that will tell me they are doing just fine, and I don't know what I am talking about. So when new information comes out proving that indeed, what I said was going to happen (The number will keep rising) is indeed true.

Since you work for the company, and have an emotional attachment to it, you don't like me bringing this up, therefore personally attack me, instead of my arguments. Something that Rob gets banned for every single time he comes in here.

So if I were you, I'd re-asses your little post you made.

How about just say "Uhm, yeah, typo" and cut out the dumb story. What a joke.

-t
You must have missed the "Not that that explains the typo... "

As far as the "Must have misspelled it via keyboard and went to fix it via spellcheck and it fixed it wrongly."

Thats exactly what happened. How often does one typo a completely different word spelled correctly.

You guys crack me up. I am really sorry the 380 wasn't a winner financially. I truely am.

But it's silly to attack someone that brings it up just because you don't like the facts.

The last three posts before this post of mine were nothing but silly Jr Highish character assassinations.

So what I am getting here is, unless you are posting POSITIVE things about the 380, you don't want to hear it.

Gotcha.

What story are you referring to? I don't remember telling any stories

If you mean the post I made, and what it meant.. I think it's pretty self explanatory.

Still the same ad-hominem silliness. Again I understand badidea. I'd take up for the company I worked for too. And I commend you for that.

But the facts still remain.

I know. Unbelievable.

After the first low pass it turned and the left wing dipped almost clipping the ground.

I haven't seen a plane do something that stupid since 9/11.

Would the pilots have to bypass lots of built-in warnings alarms and safety features to fly this low with the landing gear retracted?

Altitude warnings were certainly active. No special safety features are turned off during this kind of stunt.

The A310 has no envelope protection like the A320 and up. Where you steer it, it will go.

This video is way more scary.

YouTube - crosswind landing

The airshow was under control. There is a huge difference.

Boeing has announced a 6 month delay on the Dreamliner. Caused by "manufacturing problems". Didn't someone here predict this?

In order to make Airbus look good, one has to make another company look bad. They can't do it on their own merits.

All right. Very nice images. Now let's start counting the numbers. And no comments on getting past #26 for real numbers. This baby has been hand built, trimmed, and messaged by Airbus. Let the claims begin.

I don't understand what you're getting at with this post. Can you explain please?

Has Airbus got the famous production certificate you said they had to have before putting this thing into service?

You don't need a production certificate to put an aircraft into service.

But without it, you have to individually certify each airframe. Not bad when you're at low-rate initial production, but a huge task at normal production volumes.

Sure. You simply could not resist the temptation to interact with me. It's ok. I understand. My understanding is they will have a STD assembly process by # 26, then full speed ahead (no pun intended.) Fuel burn baby, fuel burn. At 500-550 seats it's all about fuel burn. Bring on the numbers.

Even if the A388 better suits the president's needs, I can't see the political will to buy it over the B748.
And as a C5 replacement... are they crazy? No oversize cargo... high, very high, and crazy high cargo floors... no way.

I can see buying Hondas for government-use sedans. Many Hondas are built in Ohio. My last "import" Honda was built in Ontario... As for police vehicles, I've seen (really, seen with my own eyes) original Volkswagen Bugs as police vehicles. In Panama in the 1980s. Strange things happen sometimes.

But going with a European consortium as the primary vendor for a presidential support aircraft over an American company is not just politically inappropriate. There are major security issues involved in putting the president (and the ever-present "football") in something that was not built under U.S. supervision. Think back to the "new" U.S. Embassy in Moscow about 20 years ago. Soviet contractors placed so many bugs in the construction that the place was unusable. Security people have long memories and little trust. The Airbus has no chance of being the newest Air Force One. And while the A380 may hold a buttload of cargo, I similarly doubt that the C-5 will be replaced by it. Or be replaced at all, for that matter. The C-5 has decades of life left in it without going to the level of support used on the B-52.

VW Beetles were of course standard police vehicles in Germany for decades. Hardly surprising, though.

Maybe not...

The Marine One is already being replaced by the British-Italian AgustaWestland EH101/AW101.

FTFA:
Recent acquisition contracts show that presidential aircraft fleets are not immune from transatlantic competition. In 2004, the US Navy selected an Italian-British helicopter design – the EH101 -- offered by Lockheed for the next presidential helicopter.
Although these machines, marketed as US101 (military designation VH-71A Kestrel accordig to wikipedia) will apparently be built in the US.

Kind of like Hondas.

The 380F could never provide the lift. The 380F was designed to be a parcel carrier. The request from EADS is simply to prepare them for the KC-767 ADV order. The KC-30, while a good airframe is too slow.

Let's see those SQ fuel burn numbers!!!!!!!
