PS3 firmware 2.40 is live! I'm so excited for this update!
Source
Now the PS3 will be able to access the home menu while in-game! Other new updates include trophies and more!
I'm going to go install this now .

Well, that's unfortunate. But at least I haven't encountered problems yet. I'll just wait for the fix. What a let-down, eh?

I suggest you hold off until they release a fix. So far, there has been no fix and your PS3 is still prone to bricking.

I never said it wouldn't, I'm just saying that it could cause bricking.

Worked perfectly for me. I'm just disappointed that all of my games are gonna need an update in order to play music in-game.

And I said I already installed it so I don't see why you would tell me to "hold off".

Big deal. Run the game, it says there is an update, install it, done. How many games you got that will cause this major inconvenience?

my comment was based on those claiming to have downloaded 2.4 I check occasionally for updates manually and did so on 07/02, I should have put that in my post.
