I'm about to receive a package from Canada [they are using canada post] ...... once the package enters the United States, who takes over the delivery of the package?

usps?

Pretty sure USPS does. If it was sent from their country's federal mailing system, that is.

Yep. The USPS has a fleet of trucks and even jets to move mail from any point to any other point. This is one of the "security of the mail" guarantees, in fact: ALL incoming U.S. mail, no matter where it comes from, is handled exclusively by the USPS within the U.S.
