Hmmm... It's now over 24 hours later, and there has been no update. I hope this doesn't mean it had been sitting in the Suzhou airport or something for a day, cuz it missed the FedEx cutoff that day. Anyone have any insight into this limited information?

Meanwhile, my 2 GB Samsung DDR2-667 SO-DIMMs shipped yesterday too via Global Express Mail, from California.

I wonder which will get to me first.

As for the Amazon orders, they won't take nearly that long to ship. When I ordered my iMac, Amazon was predicting ridiculous wait times but it shipped in like 3 days.

Woke up this morning, checked the package, and it has been shipped. I ordered it on May 17th, and it shipped today, May 20th. They say that the estimated arrival date is May 26th, but judging by Draco's luck, I can only hope that it gets to the Chicagoland area as fast as his laptop did.

Hmmm... My FedEx status page doesn't list a due date. Where are you seeing this?

EDIT:

Scratch that, it was just updated to say delivery on the 24th (Wednesday). w00t! Too bad I'm working elsewhere on Wed. Hopefully it might be Tuesday.

P.S. It's a long weekend here, but not in the US right? If not, then there shouldn't be any Monday shipping delays on the US side. However, the Monday holiday may hold things up here. (I'm in Toronto.) Not that I'm complaining about having a long weekend...

What iBook2 posted doesn't make much sense on FedEx's part... you live in Oregon, but they shipped it from Anchorage to Indianapolis? Why didn't they just send it down through Canada or straight to Portland, or Salem. Who knows...

FedEx sends the stuff first to specific distribution hubs.

P.S. My info still hasn't been updated. It still just says:

I wonder why it took 37 hours to get to Anchorage. Maybe that FedEx cutoff meant that it got delayed until the next day.

I expect to see the "Anchorage, AK" bit today when I come home from work. Luckily, from there it looks like it heads to Indianapolis and then it'll come to Chicago, which is right near me!! I am being optimistic and hoping for Tuesday.

I ordered a custom build on the 16th. Shipped on the 18th. Arrived in Memphis TN and then Mississauga Ontario on the 20th. It's still stuck at Canada Customs since then. Oh well, it's a long weekend here.

Hmmm... I guess I wouldn't have gained much by keeping my 16th order then. (I had ordered it early on the 16th, but then changed it 1.5 days later, which pushed back my shipment date.)

I assume yours is listed for May 23 delivery? (Mine's supposed to come May 24.)

Looks like there is a chance mine will come early (Monday).... it still has to make a trip to another FedEx location (Tualatin, OR) before it's put on a delivery truck. Chances are that I won't get it until Tuesday because FedEx is closed Sundays? We'll see!

Well, I ordered from the education store on the night of May 18, and the ship date I was given was May 30 with an expected arrival of June 2. I got an email from Apple last night (May 21) saying it had shipped, and the expected arrival is May 26. This was for a black MacBook with the only additions being a mini-DVI-to-DVI adapter and AppleCare. Looking forward to getting the MacBook next week!

FedEx updated the track - its due May 24th at 10:30AM! I hope it's the day before, though. Who knows. I am just jealous and tired of waiting!

Yes, it was scheduled to ship May 23 -- there was no delivery forecast, just 8+ days or something like that for standard shipping. But it shipped on the 18th and is just waiting for customs.

EDIT: I just realized you meant FedEx's ETA, not Apple's. Darn, FedEx has my ETA for the 24th, too. I guess Canada Customs isn't working over the long weekend at all. It's been with customs since 9am Saturday.

So your change in order had no impact on your delivery. What did you change?

I had ordered a White with 80 GB and 1 GB RAM, about an hour after release. Then the next day I changed it to a White with 80 GB and stock 512 RAM, because I found a good deal on 2 GB RAM. That pushed Apple's projected ship date to the 24th, from the 23rd. It shipped on the 19th.

BTW, my MacBook is now in Canada, after a brief trip through Memphis. It's at the "dest sort facility" in Mississauga. I guess it won't hit customs until Tuesday, and hopefully it won't be held up there. FedEx doesn't seem to think it will be held up, because their estimated delivery is still Wednesday, May 24 for mine. (I live in Toronto.)

Well at least mine has left China and made it to Europe. I called em up and asked what the deal was. The girl on the phone assured me that it should be here on Friday no matter what technical problem the website mentioned now. Hmm, not even my Webster's Dictionary can tell me in plain english what a "linehaul delay" is.

Looking at my English-Japanese dictionaries seems to indicate that "line-haul" refers to the act of transferring cargo from one place to another. A fancy way to say "it's late" I guess.

My original arrival date was June 2nd, and I received it a few hours ago. I have to say, I was nervous about the machine considering all the fussing on here about various things. NO WORRIES, build quality is 1000x better than any ibook/ ALbook I have owned, can't speak for MBP as I never owned one. The glossy screen to me, is absolutely beautiful, IMHO, everything about it is a huge improvement over my last revision 12" PB.

Mine also shipped, but it missed the cutoff time for Fedex... Still in Red China.

Apple says it should be here by Friday, but I'm hoping for sooner. Another guy in my lab received his Black MB today and it's schweet. He's putting Winders on it now... (Barf)

After 18 years of MS-DOS and Windows working very happy on Mac, now on a 15" MacBook Pro 2.2 Ghz - 2Gb memory - 200 Gb HD with a 20 and 23" screen. I've been waiting for the iPhone for quite a while, let's role it out in Europe. Just one wish left for now: a light mac (2-3 pounds) with 8 hours of working time. They can do it... :-)

OMG, TNT just claimed they were holding mine back so others could go out first in Amsterdam, because they had this 'linehaul delay due to technical problems' and mine wasn't scheduled to arrive until Friday anyway.

Arrrrgh, the pain! I must admit, I actually considered hopping onto the next KLM to Amsterdam and picking the darn thing it up myself. I then remembered, that I actually have a real job to tend to.

God damn it:

"Recipient Unavailable - Please contact carrier for new delivery appointment"

I HATE SCHOOL!

PS: I'm on-line with TNT now, checking where I can pick it up or when they come again.

PPS: I will pick it up in six hours at TNT. Whohooo!
