I'm contesting the warranty bc the apple support site says warranty started 11/2006. I purchased the notebook two weeks ago from authorized Apple Dealer. So the warranty is 175 days or a full year. I will update the thread after I hear back from Apple. Either way the notebook still qualifies for AppleCare.
