Today I met somebody who had the exact same name as one of my friends who died when I was pretty young. He was the same age as my friend would have been. I was so weirded out. I didn't say anything, but I can't get it out of my head that this is actually my friend. I mean, obviously he's not. He doesn't look similar to my friend. Has any one else experienced something like this? Or am I crazy?

Well with 6,795,800,000 humans on this little planet, its not hard to have people with the exact name and the same age group, I have met 2 people with my exact name and similar age range, so not that weird really.

There was a Sean Kennedy (my exact name) who played soccer (my sport at the time) for the next town over and his position was goalie, which was also my position.

We were in the same grade.

Somewhere out there, there has to be a gay dude dating someone with his name, right?

I think you need to cut that number down a bit.

It's rather UNLIKELY that you'll find someone in China or India with a typical Western name.

If they're out there, I'm sure that most of them are tired of hearing about it.

Fortunately, I've yet to meet another Agamemnon J Bananahammer. I've met an Agamemnon P Bananahammer and an Agamemnon G Bananahammer, but never a J.
And that's a guitarist joke, for those not paying attention.

Sounds like the makings of a great social security scam when one of them eventually kicks the bucket, too.

Maybe Kelli (if a girl) to avoid confusion.

I think I heard this story before...

This girl ties a message-in-a-bottle to a balloon, and it just happens to land in the yard of another girl with the same name, age, clothes, and pets.

Oi, you! I saw that.

I am, as far as I have been able to find out, the only person in the world with my exact name.

Same for me.

Of course, John Smith is out of luck.

BTW, I was looking up my name one day and came across someone else with my exact name (and my name isn't a common one either), on the opposite side of the country.

I emailed him telling him a friend was coming to that city to visit, and he agreed to show her around the city.

To keep future mix-ups to a minimum, the Kelly Hildebrandts have already come to an important agreement.

"No," said Katrina Hildebrandt. "We're definitely not going to name our kids Kelly."

My name is so common that Jim Smiths feel sorry for me. Seriously, it is more common that Jim Smith.
