I have a early version (version 1) keyboard and I need to replace it. I'd like to upgrade to the newer version with the volume controls on the F10 thru F12 and so on. Is there any reason this wouldn't work on the new one? I know you can customize the use of the function keys to compensate, but I'm wondering if the connection is different or would this just not work at all?

Thanks.

According to ifixit.com, it can:

MacBook Santa Rosa/Penryn Upper Case with Keyboard (922-8264, 922-8265, 661-5075, 661-5076) - iFixit

All plastic, non-unibody, MacBooks have compatible keyboards, in spite of the slightly different layout.
