anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?

screensaver won't start and backlight won't turn off for my MBP under windows even though i set screensaver to come on in 2 minutes and monitor to turn off in 5.

i've read of at least one other person having this problem on another forum, but so far no one knows what to do yet.

anyone who's experiencing the same thing or who has any idea please chime in

That is because it is not supported by Windows XP. ie. no drivers.

I experience the same thing, and it's true there are no drivers for the monitor/screensaver as of yet. Bummer, cause I know for a fact that screen burn in is inevitable without a screensaver.

Not true on the MBP. LCD's don't suffer from burn-in like CRTs did. Screensavers are pretty much useless on LCD displays.

Screensavers have been useless on CRTs for years as well.

Screensavers are NOT useless; they just do something other than prevent phosphor damage. What they do is protect sensitive information and even lock access to a computer when it's unattended.

With that said, "it's the drivers." Make sure that Windows has the right video driver for the MBP, and check ALL the video settings, including things like "powersaver" and the like.

At any rate, we can all agree that your LCD isn't going to get a burn just because you don't run a screensaver, right?
