Something on the page is trying to load, but it times out.
It doesn’t block anything else from loading, so it’s not even really a problem, but I figured I should report.

Yeah, I get that long delay sometimes, too.
Have you noticed if you get it mostly when you're loading a thread, as opposed to just a forum view? I know sometimes people post unnecessarily ginormous images to posts and that can often slow things down. I've also noticed a few users' signature images have broken links, and it might create a delay trying to load before timing out.

I think it’s just threads, but it’s happening in non-image heavy ones.
It’s only started to happen for me as of a day or two ago.

Bump because it’s happening again.
Edit: oooh, cool… we can necro posts older than a year. What’s the new window?

Like last time, the entire page is loading first, so there’s no delay problem.
However, it’s still trying to load something (the progress bar hangs) and then when it times out, the page will sometimes jump back to where it was when it first loaded.

Loading fine here. Server load figures look normal.
Sigs and posted images are the usual suspects. Including any tracking dots (1x1 pixels) placed in spammer posts.

It seems to be happening on every page for me. Main page included.

Bad ISPs sometimes added their own ads to web pages, but that would have stopped when everyone moved to https. It's no longer possible to modify page content in transit. Though they could slow down a particular site.
Since others (including myself) see no delay, that suggests something local.

It might be my phone acting up. Nothing on my iPad. Sorry for the false alarm!

I realized it does happen on my iPad, so it isn’t just my phone.
Also happens on 5G, so it’s not an ISP injection.
Not happening on a desktop.
None of this probably helps track it down, but I thought it might be worth mentioning.

Wrong thread?
I’m pretty sure it’s the OS, though. It never happened with this phone on iOS 14.
