Last night my friend Paul and I attempted to overclock my AGP G4/400.
No go. At 500 mhz it wouldn't even boot.
It wouldn't even boot at 450 mhz. Wow.
The G4 chip was marked as a G4/400 part and that's what it was good
for.
Due to a problem with a resistor it briefly became a G4/350, but was
soon back to it's 400 mhz self in short order. But no more.
I think I'll get a faster processor at some point since this one is
never going to go any faster than 400 mhz.
The funny thing is, it is marked as the revision that supposedly is
easier to overclock than previous versions.
And yes, for those of you tempted to try this: the soldering is a
complete and utter beast of a job. Do at your own risk!
