what is the oldest pair of shoes you still have and wear on a regular basis? i have a pair of dress shoes that I've had for about 4 years now and wear every week at least once or twice. they show a little wear on the soles but the leather is fantastic still.
what about you?

A pair of Nikes, got 'em in August for around $60. Most money I have ever spent on a pair of shoes.

My Timberland boots and Teva sandals.
They both cost a fortune ($200 for both), but I've had them since 1997 and they've got little damage to show for it!
At this rate, they'll never die.
Although the Tims might need new soles, the heels are wearing out.

I have a pair of Army issue boots my father wore in Vietnam back in `69 and `70. I've worn them during the winter, every year since I was 12 and they're still in pretty good shape. Remarkable quality.

do you mean that each were 200$ or each were $100 or that they both totaled up to $200?
i don't doubt the Timberlands, but the Teva's i have a hard time believing if they were more than 70$.
i have an old pair of birkenstocks that are 3, 4 years old. don't wear them though.

I have a pair of leather shoes that resemble Docs, but aren't. Got them in 1996 in Perth. The toes are slightly worn, but they are pretty much still perfect. They are sooo soft and comfortable. I wear them at least weekly.
edit: the sole says "Roc Boots".

Yup, same here. Got 2 pairs. One I bought while I as at University and another given to me for my 21st. That was almost 10 years ago. Still wearing them and still got tread.
And people still complain they're too expensive.
Steve.

I have a pair of Vans I picked up in france they have pretty much fallen apart, if I walk in them I can feel what I'm walking on the soles have been worn out that much, but I refuse to throw them away as I was wearing them for most of the best times of my life...Kinda sad but ohwell.

Dr. Martens I picked up in 1995.
I wear them at least once a week. They are still in good condition, but the sales force thinks your a freak when you ask for a nine in the states...

Pair of western style cowboy boots. Purchased in '96, have had the soles replaced three times. There's nothing more comfortable than a well-broken in pair of boots.

It's just the six months getting them broken in that kills.

Pair of Vasque hiking boot's bought in '93. Still wear them occasionally and judging from the overall wear, I'd give 'em another 10 years or so. Took about ... oh, 2 years to fully break in.
