I am contemplating buying a new digital camera and Zones.com has it in stock. Has anyone here purchased anything from them before? I just want to know if they are trustworthy. Thanks in advance

They told me they had iMacDVSE's in stock, three weeks later a different guy told me they were on back order and had been since before I ordered and that they did not know when they would have enough machines to fill mine.

They lied=no business from me. I ordered from MacMall, it didn't come any faster but at least I didn't get smoke blown up my ass.

If you can get the same camera from Tiger Direct I would go with them. Kick ass fast excellent service. Standard shipping gets it to me in one or two days EVERY time.

I'll stop using the term "colored" as soon as they do.
I'm somewhat of an enigma: an atheist conservative.

I'm trying to get my hands on a Nikon D70 (without lens) if possible, and no one seems to have them. At least none of the places that I know and trust. Does anybody have suggestions on trustworthy places that ship quickly? (Tiger Direct doesn't carry Nikon)

I'm thinking of getting the D70 (who am I kidding? I'll end up ordering it tomorrow or the day after) specifically the kit with the 18-70mm lens.

I might order it from RitzCamera.com. No sales tax and free shipping + no gray market stuff.

When I called yesterday they said they had some D70 bodies but no lens kits till later in the week.

They've been in business for longer than I can remember. Ordered from 'em many times over the years. Never had a problem.

It was nice of you too look that up, but the legit places sell the D70 for $999 without the lens, why would I pay $1779? I know Amazon is legit, but they source some of their items from questionable places....

I would consider calling Nikon directly. They may be able to point you in the right direction.

I checked out Zones.com and the body was $999

You could buy from Apple.com for the same price (body only) or any of the major chains.

This is the best deal I've found
http://store.yahoo.com/handr-deals/85000.html
$973
But they look sketchy, and i have to ask myself (is it worth $26 to chance it)

try B&W, from what I hear it's the best/cheapest place to buy D70's from....

Well, I took the plunge and ordered the D70 about 5 minutes ago.

Ordered through B&H.

They do not charge tax and the shipping was very reasonable.

Decided to check retailers using http://www.resellerratings.com to help
tell the legit places from the bait and switch retailers.

Good for you! Enjoy your new camera Post some shots here! I would order from B&H, but my budget is tight and doesn't allow for the $100+ dollars in sales tax that they would charge since I live in NY state. I see that they have the D70 kit in stock, and it is very tempting... I ordered the D70 kit and the SB600 flash from Ritz Camera. I'll have the flash in a few days, and the D70 when they get some more. I already have a 512 MB Sandisk Ultra II card, and can't wait to get shooting! Too bad I'm not a patient person....
