Hey all. I have a quick question that I'm unable to find an answer for regarding Spotlight and iTunes. I have transitioned into using Spotlight quite a bit, and I found myself wondering if I could use it to go directly to an iTunes playlist instead of a specific song?
I'm not up on all my boolean searches, so I didn't know if there was a certain syntax that would allow me to begin playing a particular playlist rather than Spotlight simply choosing an individual song.
I'm sure I could make an Automator script, but I was just curious. Thank you ahead of time!

Sounds like you'd have to write scripts to trigger the playlists.

Thank you Mac.
I tried the Automator solution after I posted the initial question, and it works wonderfully. I saved it as an application and gave it an easily searchable name and it works exactly how I wanted it to. I made it open the playlist I wanted, then begin playing.
I guess it was just as simple as using Spotlight to start with, but simply required the setup beforehand.

QuickSilver, FTW.
Direct access to iTunes playlists.
Disclaimer: for some reason, it doesn't work for me, but it's supposed to do it and reported to do. I think it's something with my installation. If I was you, I'd give it a try.

Isn't Quicksilver in a suspended state of development? Did somebody take over the project?
