I'm on a MacBook 2.0gHz running 10.4.11.

I've had a Windows (XP Pro) partition for a couple of years, installed with the 1.2 beta version of Bootcamp. I've used it for music production, but it hasn't worked well with my ASIO-compliant interface at all, and in general has been riddled with glitches and not been a satisfactory experience.

I've managed to get a link to Bootcamp 1.4, and have installed it (after setting the clock back).

Now, before I do a clean re-install of Windows (which would mean having to tediously re-register my numerous audio applications) I'd like to see if updating the Mac drivers for Windows is enough to solve the massive issues with audio.

So my question at this point is: how do I extract and install these drivers, without running the whole Bootcamp setup from scratch?

You help is really appreciated.

If you find the Bootcamp Assistant (in Apps/Utilities), right-click and "show content of package", somewhere in there, there's a DMG file containing the Windows drivers. Burn that DMG and you're set to go!

Or... hmm.. Don't have Bootcamp right now but doesn't it ask you to burn a drivers disk when you start it up?

You should have "Software Update" installed in your Windows installation. Run that; it should find the latest drivers for you. I'd give that a try before trying to reinstall the drivers from that DMG that patrix mentioned.

No, Apple has abandoned the Bootcamp 1.4 version. A software update won't show anything available.
