I was very careful to not lose e-mail in Mail this go-around.

I copied the contents of my Inbox into a local, unconnected-to-account folder and copied the contents of my Sent folder into the On My Mac folder.

But when I deleted my old account to which these messages were linked originally, although the inbox items remained, the Sent items disappeared...just as I feared.

is there any way to retrieve a mbox that Mail deleted when being asked to delete an account?
