Having seen both films, I must admit that I felt rather blasphemous as "Always Look At The Bright Side Of Life" started to go through my head during the crucifixion scene in "The Passion."
I would recommend either film, depending on one's mood. Just remember to take each one with a grain of salt.

I read "The Passion of the Python"
Which, appropriately enough, made me think of a Monty Python parody of The Passion of the Christ.
I cannot morally defend not having seen Life of Brian much longer!!!
