It seems that MacOS (11.6.2) Messages doesn't have the option to block senders, which IS present on both iOS and iPadOS (15.6 in both cases).

So when my wife said "Why should I care if Disney World kicked Britney Spears out for smoking*, and who the freak are you texting me about it?", I figured I'd do something about it. And I wasted 15 minutes looking for how to do it on her MBA...

Of course most of our Messages are shared from our phones, so it'd be trivial to just block the baddies on the phone, right? But that isn't always as simple as it sounds - I'm so connected among my Apple devices that I don't often carry my phone around in the house. And honestly, the iOS Messages interface feels clumsy when doing much more than sending or reading...

Also, NO platform version of Messages lets you select multiple messages at the same time. So you could, y'know, delete a bunch of them at once? Or archive a bunch at once? Nope. And as far as I can tell, it's NEVER had that option..

OK, Apple, why not? First, why can't I block a caller/texter from my Mac?

And why won't you implement something that lets me select, say, all the texts from various numbers associated with a former employer? I am totally OK with a bunch of "do you really want to do this?" prompts, once they're selected.

*Actual subject of the stupid text she received, from some (insert expletive here) creepo text spam slime-based pseudo life form.

I kinda wish they’d add a “send” button so I could write more than one paragraph.
