I haven't downloaded it yet to my Powerbook, but am hoping this will remedy the performance troubles I've had using 1.0.

I will dare say it but it seems more snappy.
It doesn't quit when you close a song.
You can rearange the track order.
You can now drag in .m4a and .mp3 files.
There is a few more presets.

So I guess it's a well deserved upgrade.

Yeah, but she said I'm going to need more than a .1 update to fix them.

Same here, although I actually only noticed it just the other day.

Did they also make the preferences window remember it's position? This seems oh so reminiscent of the iCal 1.0.1 update ... but why do such things even need to be in an update? They seem so trivial!

Also hoping for better performance on my G3 800MHz iBook - any chance of less of the red light CPU use during realtime playback, or is that not something they can change?

I use logic on my Powerbook and I can load it up with way more plugins, effects and instruments etc before it starts to choke. Maybe this can give us hope that Apple will be able make GB less greedy?

I've tried several times, but it don't want to install. I can write to /tmp/501/

The Update "GarageBand Update" could not be verified and expanded correctly.

Make sure you have permission to write to /tmp/501/TemporaryItems/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate, then try again.

Have you tried ln -s /private/tmp /tmp in the terminal?

And the answer to that one is No! just in case you were wondering. It does now remember it while it is open, but forgets after quitting . At least it does now open above the dock by default - and at least the main window doesn't open partly off the screen now !

That's progress, at least. I don't understand why this is a constant issue with early-version stuff? I can't possibly be the only one who likes windows to open in the same place every time?
