A semi-adolescent little birdy, probably crashed against one of the windows and dropped into a drinking trough. I let it sit in a cartbox overnight to regain consciousness. At the moment it´s unable to fly but the wings don´t appear to be broken...

It's very hard to detect small bones that have been broken. Well done for keeping it. Rememeber, don't use a flash near them.

Looks like a Sparrow to me?? Get loads round here.
Had a darn baby Magpie fall down my chimney the other week [3 storey house too!] - fun evening cleaning up bird poo followed. He was fine though, grabbed him from his window head-butting and let him fly out the back door.

It´s actually too small for a sparrow. In the pics it appears to be bigger than in reality. You can grasp it with your closed fist without even touching the body...

Looks like a female sparrow. Male ones have a black stripe across the eye, black breast feathers and sometimes a white underbelly. Females are generally completely brown.

You people sure do get your knickers in a wad easily. But you're right -- the hardest part about filleting Uno would be all the time spent trimming the fat off his belly. Of course, with a cat, I'm sure you'd just go for the legs and maybe backstrap ala deer trimming.
And of course, I hope the little buggar is fine. I *am* an animal lover (except I don't like dogs). Be sure to let us know if you find out, definitively, what kind of birdie it is.

So i brought the little birdy to the vet this day (He´s a birds specialist working in an institute here in town) and he told me it´s a juvenile blackcap (sylvia atricapilla, Mönchsgrasmücke). It suffers from ticks nesting in it´s wings. The little guy will stay in the institute and they will try to get rid of the parasites. I will call them in a few days to see how things go....
