Can anybody tell me why my Quicksilver G4 always shuts off when I try to start it in target disk mode?
I tried the "t" key method as well as "startup disk system prefs" - neither worked!

Ok, I think I know now why this is not working - all my HDs are connected to an Adaptec PCI card which is recognized as a SCSI card (even though it's IDE) and this is not supposed to work, right?

Remove the card and find out.

Target disk mode ONLY works with the internal master IDE hard disk (and in later models also the optical drive, as read-only). In no cases will it share a slave drive, SCSI disks, or disks connected via any kind of expansion card.
