I unplugged my iBook power on Monday, put the iBook and the adapter in my laptop bag, and went to work. After a few hours of use at work, I pulled out the adapter to plug in the iBook.
The adapter wouldn't go in the hole. It would go about 3/4 of the way in, and wouldn't go any further. I looked at it, and there is some white plastic sticking out of the inner column of the power plug. I tried trimming it off, but that didn't help.
Anyway, I have a new adapter on the way from Apple. It will hopefully be here by Friday or so. Has anyone else heard of a problem like this?
On a side note, my iBook was just out of its 90-day tech-support warranty. I had to give the Apple guy my credit card # and was told that if my problem turned out not to be hardware I would be charged $50. In this case of course I knew it was hardware, but the whole thing was a little disconcerting. I still remember the old days when Apple offered free lifetime phone support with product purchase.
