I am the technology advisor for our school (Catholic school), and we have like most schools that purchase Apple products lots, and lots of iMac G3s (450 Ruby/500 Indigo), and I was wondering with all the rumours of updates at MWSF 2003 why no one ever mentions the good ole product that brought Apple back 5 years ago. It seriously needs either a major update, or a major price cut. $799 Retail/$699 Edu is way to expensive for this machine, sure its a trusty machine but for 600 MHz, 40 GB & 128 MB with only a CD-ROM, and no other options for anything but RAM it is going to kill schools when they need to update. We do have to update a lab full of 5260/120s this year, and a lab full of 5500/250s this summer.

Yes, i would love to see the imac g3 upgraded but don't think they will. The new ibook is so much computer for students there is no reason for imac. The emac is cool but they've had alot of display problems.
They should bump the imac g3 to 1gig and 32meg vram or drop it. Because the way it is now it does not do OS X justice and this is no way to introduce new customers to apple.

Yeah sorry but if anything Apple will probably discontinue the imacs (not fp's) and carry on w/ the fp's, so don't expect to upgrade or change the original imac line.
