Sure miss his contribution to Seti@home. Hope he is okay. Oh, and his computer too.

Something going on over there, his last post on SETI was 7 days ago and the last unit turned in was 5 days ago.

I have been watching him also, wondering what's wrong. We were neck in neck for quite some time and then now he went from about 10000 credits a day to just the trickle that comes from credits being validated. His computers is definitely not crunching or at least not connecting.

Hopefully he is traveling and just turned it off for safety.

I have no on topic contribution to this thread, or really to this section of macnn whatsoever, but this thread title has made me giggle every time I see it on the main forum page.

I need to grow up one of these days.

It got you in here.

Feel free to look around while you're here, we have rival teams that need some bad luck.

Looks like he shut down due to way too high electric bills.

I've been away for three weeks so turned the machine off.

Came back on Friday and decided to just crunch on 1 core, with electric here costing £1.00 a day and an expected increase of 40% due, we can't afford to keep the machine crunching full throttle at the minute, when I find another job however things will hopefully get back on track.

THank you for the concern though.

Those bills are tough to swallow. Hope you find a job soon.

I am having to shut down occasionally because of high temperatures. If it is forecast for 30 degrees or more, I have to shut down or the house gets too hot.
