If the DVD player and Quicken will not duplicate this disc — what will? (MacMini, Tiger)

Disc Utility. Make a dvd/cd master image using Disk Utility, then burn that image to another DVD.

This assumes you have a burner that can burn dual-layer DVDs (if the disc is dual-layer).

I'm hoping you mean QuickTime, not Quicken. I'm not sure how well your bank statements will duplicate a DVD.

Disk Utility image attempt unsuccessful — "Input/Output" error. Any alternatives?

Sounds like a bad disk (or hopefully not, but it could be a bad optical drive). Try another disk and see if you can make the image.

What It was — now okay — was fingerprints! I found it out from a local fast copy place. Once cleaned the DVD was easily copied by the Disk Utility method you suggested. Thanks!
