I won't say that Pepsi is as bad as Railroader thinks it is. It has more "bite" to me than most other colas, but it's sweeter than Coke, which changes things too. I also like RC, and I think I can still ID Coke, RC and Pepsi in a blind taste test (though I haven't had either RC or Pepsi for quite a while.
What's interesting is that there are a number of "store brand" colas around. For example, Wal-Mart and Sam's Clubs sell "Sam's" sodas, and their cola is tolerable. Just...it's sort of like RC but not as good in a number of ways. The predominant grocery chain where I live has their own line of sodas, and their cola is OK. I still spend more and get Coke, but when someone brings the store brand to a party or something, I don't feel that put off.

I never had RC
Btw, Sam's Cola is made by the same company that makes RC, Cott Beverages.

I'm not a Pepsi fan either. In general, I don't do soft drinks that often.
I rather stick to beer.

One could display one's approximate age still further by mentioning Zots, Pop Rocks, Marathon candy bars, and Chelsea (1/2 of one percent alcohol!). Um, some of you do remember those items, don't you?
Regarding Pepsi, I did prefer it to Coca-Cola but stopped drinking it due to receiving product with a different taste every other time I purchased it. Sometimes it was good, sometimes much more on the yuck side. I drink it now only when I'm in Germany.
In addition to my previously mentioned Crystal Pepsi, I'd like to stick in a plug for Safeway Select cola. It's not too bad, and the diet version is one of the best tasting artifically sweetened colas.

I try to avoid HFCS when possible. However, I have found that Coke from Mexico uses cane sugar. There may be some Pepsi products that do so as well, but I have not found them near by.

Mexican Coke tastes like "original Coke" before the sadistic and idiotic plot to foist "new Coke" on us back in the 80s. It is available here, usually in returnable bottles, and I get it occasionally. But it's more convenient to get the "not bad at all" "new original Coke" from vending machines.

On the Mexican Coke w/ cane sugar topic: I think Costco sells it.

I voted Coke, since Pepsi is only drunk by poor people and perverts.

Most all Coke outside the U.S. (with the exception of Hawai'i) is made with sugar.

OK, I think we can all see I was joking in that post, but SERIOUSLY CREEP OUT WARNING HERE(!!!):
I had a dream during my nap today, and Dakar was in it. Just so you guys know, He's in his early 30's, very close cropped black hair, widow's peak, about 5'-10" ~200 lbs. (at least in my nap dreams).
His kid(?!?) was going to do something famous and invited all of us MacNN peeps to view it. It involved something with a kite and remote controlled somethingorothers.
Just thought I'd get that out there. Plus it's past 4pm and he's left the office so you guys can have at it and he won't see it until tomorrow.

That looks cool, with all the cans next to each other.
My father used to work for Pepsi's Indianapolis distribution center when I was a kid. We had so much Pepsi swag it was sick.
Some kid's family took a tour of the facility one day. The kid got away, went into one of the break rooms, and got on top of the Pepsi machine in there, trying to open it and/or steal soda. It fell over, and his parents sued Pepsi because there wasn't a warning sign on it. I don't remember how it turned out - this happened in like the late 80s.
Anyhow, my vote: neither. Fountain A&W root beer FTW!

I live in San Antonio, so all I have access to is Mexican Coke. On the other hand, I'm not surprised that most other places still use sugar. The whole "high fructose corn syrup" thing was a manufacturing thing, (it's cheaper than sugar in huge quantities), geared for ludicrous levels of production.

I work "with" a guy that does printed products for distributors of various beverages, one of which being Pepsi. The last design has been nothing but a PITA. This could be a very welcome change. Except of course he'll have to throw out possibly thousands of dollars worth of material. He has a bit of a short temper, so tomorrow should be very interesting.
