Has anyone heard any rumors whether this game will eventually make it to the Mac? For anyone who isn't familiar with Rise of Nations, it's a Civ-like game developed by Brian Reynolds, who worked with Sid Meier on CivII and Alpha Centauri.

Brad, are you around here somewhere?

We could be so lucky. This is one of the best games to come along in maaaaany moons. I haven't heard any word on it coming Macside - and I suppose that the very heavy reliance on DirectX-9 will have something to do with that.

I'd love for it to come over, but I'm not holding my breath. FANTASTIC GAME.

It uses DX8, not DX9.

Is it possible we will see it even though the PC version uses DirectX?

It'll probably be one of those no-MP-w/PC's ports though Which really sucks

(of course, I'd be happy to be surprised).
Be happy.

That's a pretty interesting/good list of games on the MWSF '04 site.

Excellent news. I managed to get to play RoN on a friends PC and it'll be good to play it at last.

So now that MacWorld is here and gone - what is the official line on Rise of Nations coming to Mac? I haven't been able to dig up any good tidbits.

Well, the link from the MWSF site goes to Macsoft. They've got their whole corporate restructuring to deal with, but I'd expect to hear something soon from them.
