Check out http://www.centrebet.com. You can bet on who will get the Nobel Prize this year.

Right down at the bottom of the list, a tie between Tony Blair, John Howard, Slobodan Milosevic and George W. Bush with 1000:1 odds.

It's tempting to put money on the EU at 26 to 1. I still find it funny that despite all that Bush has done to bring peace and liberty to Iraqis , he's still given as much of a chance of winning the Nobel Peace Prize as Milosevic! What's surprising is that neither Pachead, Spliff, Zimphire or dcolton have come along to say that the Nobel Prize is irrelevant.

Didn't Henry Kissinger receive the Nobel peace prize once?

What a joke that was.

Arafat got it too but then Arafat doesn't hold a candle to Milosevic.

Just wait. But as true good "Christians" they shouldn't even look at this thread as it has to do with bets.

Henry did have to share his prize with Le Duc Tho in '73. It was a pat on the back for ending the Vietnam war.

I know, but what matters is what they themselves think

Nah that doesn't matter. They are Evengelical, Mormons, Literalists or whatever. Betting == evil sin of DEATH with them. Calling them Christian even in jest is not helping the poor things I fear. They'll just fall farther into their own delusions.

Confidential Nominations
According to the Statutes of the Nobel Foundation, information about the nominations is not to be disclosed, publicly or privately, for a period of fifty years. The restriction not only concerns the nominees and nominators, but also investigations and opinions in the awarding of a prize.

Actually the nominations aren't that big a deal -- there are so many. The Norwegian Storting representatives nominate and the Nobel committee chooses. There is always this one nutty right wing Norwegian representative that keeps nominating Bush

Silly silly.

You have a problem with terms. The Roman Catholic church recognizes other denominations as Christians, even the Protestants (oh, the horror). They call them Schismatics (re. Seperatists) and though they aren't happy about it, they don't and wouldn't consider them Heretics. Now, if you want to go against the words of the Pontiff and the council of Cardinals, that's your business, but it wouldn't be very Catholic of you. Ahem.

OTOH, I AM a true-blue, dyed in the Valentinian wool, Heretic... one of the type that the Romans tried to murder off almost a millennia ago. (History of the Cathars come to mind?)

Glad I could be of help.
