i wish to fix something in my dock
i have tried by checking "fix in dock" but it doesn't
what am i missing?

Just drag it to any other place in the Dock and it will stay there.

On item in Dock:
Right click - Option - Keep in Dock does the same thing.

"Fix" as in "keep in Dock"? OK, yeah it should work with the right-click menu option. If it doesn't, I don't know why it won't. Is there perhaps something about this particular item that would make it special to the OS?
