What's a .pif file, and what would I use to open one?

Just be thankful you're using a Mac. .pif files are system files from Windoze. If you've gotten one via e-mail, there's a 99.999999% chance its a virus.

On your Mac you don't have to worry. I've opened them in BBEdit before, just for the heck of it. But if your work machine is a Windoze box, be careful. :-)
