And so, in my State of the -- my State of the Union -- or state -- my speech to the -- nation, whatever you wanna call it, speech to the nation -- I asked Americans to give 4,000 years -- 4,000 hours over the next -- of the rest of your life -- of service to America. That's what I asked. I said 2 -- 4,000 hours.

You've also got to measure in order to begin to effect change that's just more when there's more than talk, there's just actual a paradigm shift.

This question has been burning in my mind also:
Will the highways on the Internet become more few?
I'm also very relieved to have that there them clarified:
When I was coming up, it was a dangerous world, and you knew exactly who they were. It was us vs. them, and it was clear who them was. Today, we are not so sure who the they are, but we know they're there.

No, he's not the most articulate guy.

Still, when every word you utter is in public and there are those hell-bent on nabbing every mis-spoken word, there are bound to be a-plenty. Life isn't a perfectly scripted court-room drama and assembled in an editing room.

example: "Black people should have the same rights as normal people." - Bill Clinton

And, fireside, yes I would rather the 'better' and 'certain' man as opposed the 'smarter' or 'more eloquent'. Derive from that what you will. The world history is rife with leaders, dictators and despots that were charming and well spoken but in-effective and/or heinous, brutal figure heads.

"It's very interesting when you think about it, the slaves who left here to go to America, because of their steadfast and their religion and their belief in freedom, helped change America."

Classic stuff!

A business failure, who's grandfather was a trustee at Yale, and who can't speak without a teleprompter, promoted to president by the "Supreme" Court. And there are people who defend him. Amazing!

Okay, everybody start digging up the Clinton stuff now!

You seem to have missed it, so I'll let you in on a little secret:

All those weird, confusing, and funny things you've read in this thread are NOT from the left. They are quotes by your beloved president (though you didn't vote for him, did you? Don't worry, we won't hold him against you until you're old enought to actually vote.)

Nice try. Intense dislike, yes. Hate, no. His background speaks for itself, and, to me, it is indeed amazing that he wound up in the president's office. If this is the best we can do, we're in very sad shape. BTW, I don't think much of Kerry either, although I'll vote for him, because, as has been the case for much of my 57 years on this rock, we really vote for whom we perceive as the lesser of two evils.

Classic of all time:
"It's clearly a budget. It's got a lot of numbers in it"
Nice app.

Actually, I heard excerpts of Dubya's speech at the Urban League yesterday. He actually sound intelligible and likable. I think that now that he's on the campaign trail he'll get enough practice to be passable. Not to me of course, but to a lot of voters.

Classic example of someone who needs to work a a particular skill. I'm sure he was pretty smooth at the end of 2000 after the campaign. He sounds like such a dufus in the press conferences because he does so few of them. If he did more, than he wouldn't be half as bad. Then again, he doesn't do them because he hates them. It's a vicious circle.
The only thing that I am reasonably sure of is that anybody who's got an ideology has stopped thinking. - Arthur Miller
